We can’t deny that social media brings a big impact to our businesses. Social media changed how we communicate with other people either personal or business.
However, as a small business owner, have you ever asked yourself why social media is important to your business? Do social media platforms including Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, Pinterest, etc overwhelm you and make you want to quit?
I am not actually shocked if you feel that way. I have heard many small business owners said that they can’t devote their time fully in social media because it gives a lot of stress.
Well, the answer is you don’t need to fully devote your time to social media. You can spend 15-30 minutes a day to do social media management. You don’t have to use all the social media platforms available to you. Try 2-3 social media platforms that you think will work for your small business.
There are 3 reasons why you need to consider social media
- Creating buzz around your brand – keep you company top of mind when people are looking for services in your niche. You can use Facebook Ad to increase brand/service awareness or create Facebook marketing strategies that will help you attract more fans.
- Generate leads – if you’re always creating evergreen content, then people will want more. Lead funnels include email opt-ins, white papers, case studies, video blog, webinars or podcasts can be measured.
- Retain customers – our goal is to always retain our existing customers because in fact getting a customer to buy from your company is one of the hardest parts of the business. Social media will keep your customers updated with your company. It gives you an opportunity to interact to those who follow your company and form a strong relationship to your customers.
It’s true that social media has become an important business tool. Small businesses as well as large companies value customer engagement and retention even when they were using traditional media.
